Violet Biddall, aged 74, Guild number LHC4830 and her husband John have had reason to be grateful to the NHS in recent days. After Violet suffered a fall recently the ambulance crew arrived very quickly and she then had an operation at the Brentwood Nuffield Hospital on her hip. The Doctor, John Target was excellent. Unfortunately she then needed treatment for a complication a couple of days later and another ambulance crew came to her rescue in quick time and took her to the Basildon University Hospital where, thanks to modern scanning techniques, the staff were able to remedy the problem without opening up the wound again. Her husband John has described the work of all those involved as superb and on behalf of these two members the Showmen’s Guild would like to thank the doctors, nurses and ambulance crews at both hospitals and all the NHS workers who are doing such a great job keeping us safe in these challenging times. Central Office will be sending a formal letter of thanks. The Guild is planning a big thank you to the NHS when things return to normality. We also wish Violet a speedy recovery!
